Locus exists to give you back what you saved, not to collect anything else. Here is what that means, plainly.
The three commitments
What moves, what stays, what is never kept.
- Your saves, synced with your own session
- The browser extension syncs your own saved posts using your own logged-in session. It reaches only the things you already chose to keep.
- Credentials stay on your device
- Your platform credentials stay in local browser storage (chrome.storage.local) on your device. They are never transmitted to Locus.
- Video is never stored
- Video is transient: downloaded, processed for classification, then discarded. It is never stored on our servers.
This website
What the site itself collects.
- The waitlist form
- If you join the waitlist, we store the email you enter, the note you choose to add, and which page you signed up from. That is the entire record.
- Nothing else
- These pages are static files. No analytics scripts, no tracking pixels, no third-party fonts. The only network request the site makes is the waitlist signup you send it.
